Subject: Ponton Site - October 13, 2004

Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

We made it out to the site yesterday afternoon/evening and managed to excavate three test units on the west side of the site. Conrad, John O., Brigitte, Marianne and I made it out. These units contained very little historic occupation material. There was a fair amount of F.C.R. and flakes. I’ve attached a map showing the location of the units and two excavation photos (see the photo gallery below).

Saturday, we’ll try to make it out to the site if it’s not raining. Dress warm it’s only supposed to get into the low-50’s.
