Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,
We made it out to the site yesterday. It was a nice sunny autumn day. Marianne,
John O., Kevin and I made it out and excavated one unit (see
Map - November 13, 2004 and
Photo 1).
525R498. This was the last unit of the 2004 season! The usual brick fragments,
flat glass, nails, earthenware, F.C.R. and flakes were recovered. Decorated
earthenware consisted of Light Blue and Red Transfer and Handpainted (see
Photo 2). Feature 3 covers the entire
floor of this unit. The bottom part of this unit was quiet wet so we decided not
to try and excavate any more units. We’ll return to this area next summer and
continue to expose Feature 3.
John and I went back to the RB and did some lab work in the afternoon.
We’ll be meeting at the Resource Building on both Wednesday evening and Saturday
morning now. We’ve had a good field season. Our winter lecture series will start
on January 19 with my update on this year’s excavations. Hope to see you in the
lab!
Scott
