20MD534 KETTLE FRAGMENTS

    Brass kettle fragments are one of the most common non-bone artifact types at site 20MD534.  The picture below illustrates a lug (top row, left), riveted patches, and various fragments.

BRASS KETTLE FRAGMENTS

    Like the Cater site, broken kettles were often made into other objects.  There are a couple tinkling cones from the site.  The pictures below illustrate an arrowhead cut from kettle brass.

    In addition to brass kettles, there are some fragments probably from tin kettles.
