Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

I visited the site (20MD263) yesterday and took some pictures (see the photo gallery below). The river overflowed the bank in the area of the site this spring. It washed away the dirt that was heaped up on our backfilled trenches and most of the leaves that were on the site. It didn’t damage the 110 block (where we stopped excavating last year). The plastic fence broke the current. I’m setting a target date to start the 2006 Field Season on April 30. I’m pretty sure the site will be too wet to excavate next weekend and I need to be in Lansing for the COMA meeting the following Saturday (22nd). We’ll start excavating in the 110 Block where we stopped last fall.

Hope to see you soon.

Scott
