Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,
We made it out to the site last Saturday and excavated in the morning. Marianne,
Kevin, Nik and I were there. We continued to excavate the 30-35 cm level on the
west side of the block and were finding the usual flakes and bone fragments and
an occasional pottery sherd. A thunderstorm passed through about 1 P.M., so I
went back to the RB and finished processing the backlog of flotation samples!
This weekend we’ll probably catch up washing the 1/8” screen bags.
This week we’ll have a little different schedule. Saturday is CNC’s 40th
birthday celebration, so we will have an exhibit down by the homestead
(2:30/3:00 till about 4:30/5:00). We won’t dig this week but will work at the RB
starting at 9:00 A.M., probably washing 1/8” screen bags. On Wednesday we’ll
probably excavate at the site, but I’ll send another email early next week to
confirm that.
Scott
