Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

We made it out to the site on Saturday and continued excavating the 2x2 m unit at 46-47 west. Kevin, Rod and Karen Foster (first time – in Midland for a family reunion), and I were at the site. We excavated the units to 10-15 cm below the surface. We didn’t find a lot of material but we are finding quiet a few calcined bone fragments and small pottery sherdlets at this relatively high level (I suspect these units will get better as they get deeper)!

I won’t be able to make it to CNC this Wednesday, so we’ll need to cancel the Wednesday evening session this week. We’ll plan on excavating at 20MD263 (Sias East) on Saturday.

Hope to see you at the site.

Scott
