Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

We made it out to the site on Saturday (July 19) after missing a week (July 12) (see Map).

In the morning, Marianne, Nik, Becky, Kevin and I excavated the 20-30 cm levels of 0S-99W and 1N-99W. These levels produced the usual flakes, bone fragments, F.C.R. and a few GTP sherds.

I started the afternoon excavating the 40-45 cm level of 1N-100W. There is a dark gray-black stain/feature in the north half of this unit – several flakes and bone fragments were recovered. I finished the afternoon excavating the 30-35 cm level of 0S-99W and 1N-99W and recovered on corner-notched point (probably goes with the Middle Woodland occupation) in 1N-99W (see Photo 1).

This Wednesday we will plan on doing lab work at the Resource Building. Next Saturday we will excavate at Sias East.

Hope to see you at the site.

Scott
