Hi Oxbow Archaeologists,

We made it out to the site yesterday. We did not find a lot but had a nice day excavating. Marianne, Nik, Kevin, Becky, Dee Dee, Brian, and I made it out.

In the morning we began unit 2S-103W, 0-20 cm. This level contained several flakes and bone fragments. I finished excavating Feature 8 – the east half only contained a few flake and a fire cracked rock.

In the afternoon we excavated the 45-50 cm level (and finished) units 0S-98W to 101W and 1N-98W to 100W. Only an occasional flake or bone fragment was recovered at this level.

This week we will meet at the Resource Building on Wednesday evening – we’ll be waterscreening if the weather permits. Next Saturday, we will excavate at Sias East – we will excavate units 2S-103W and 104W deeper and open unit 2S-102W.

Hope to see you at the site.

Scott
